The Pipper process

How do we tell a story in 60 seconds?

Hardtech companies often struggle to convey their story in a way that is accessible, as the human element can get lost along the way. To bring out this missing ingredient, our process involves identifying three key components and blending them with the company’s mission, vision & core values.

The meaning: How do we get someone to care?

What is the feeling that originally inspired the idea for the technology in the first place? Perhaps it was a child-like wonder and excitement to create the seemingly impossible? Whatever it might be, this feeling is fundamental to the process (in fact, one cannot develop an ideal without it!), and harnessing it is key to getting an audience to care and trust in an idea. It is the gold nugget that leads to meaning.

The challenge: What drives growth?

It is well understood that every good story needs the tension of the challenge, otherwise we would have nothing inspiring us to grow and innovate. We are all familiar with the experience of feeling blocked, stuck, and unsure of how to move forward. This is crucial narrative territory for getting people to feel invested in a company’s success. We will help pinpoint and distill the core challenges, whether specific to funding, hiring talent, or capturing new clients.

The dream: What does the future entail?

Here is where we identify the ultimate goal. While we love the process, we also love a clearly defined destination. The more specific and focused the better, which translates to capturing viewer imagination and inspiring people to connect and engage with a company’s mission.

Our principles

Emotions drive our creative decisions.

When we feel connected to ourselves, we trust that emotions drive our creative decisions. This increases the potential that our content will capture the emotional attention of your target audience.

Trust is how we see possibility.

When we approach a project, we bring a trust that the raw material - like a block of marble before it has been sculpted - contains all potentiality of form within it. This allows us to maximize the value of any asset, and helps uncover unexpected creative solutions.

Experiment! It’s impossible to get it wrong.

We use a process of iteration. We hold each project and each phase as a type of creative experiment, and we hold these experiments lightly. This helps us learn from our process in real time, emphasizing what works, and tweaking what doesn’t.
